Frequently asked questions
What is GlassPockets?
GlassPockets is a free, read-only directory of about 7,500 Israeli nonprofits (“amutot”), built for English-speaking and US donors. You can search, browse, and save organizations, and link out to a nonprofit’s own website. The listings are built from public Israeli nonprofit-registry data.
Is it free?
Yes. GlassPockets is completely free — no paywalls, no ads, and nothing you must buy to use any feature. The only optional purchase is a voluntary “Support GlassPockets” tip to the small studio that makes the app (one-time or monthly). It’s entirely optional, unlocks nothing, and is not a charitable donation.
Do you take donations or process payments to nonprofits?
No. GlassPockets never collects, processes, holds, or routes any donation or payment to a charity. We are not a fundraising platform and not a payment processor. If you want to give, GlassPockets simply links you out to the nonprofit’s own official page, where any donation happens directly with that organization, outside the app. (The only money the app itself can take is the optional “Support GlassPockets” tip to our studio described above, which is processed by Apple and is not a charitable, tax-deductible donation.)
Can I report a logo or image issue?
Yes. Each organization’s profile has a “Report an image issue” link, or you can email Company@lovelaceloom.com. If you own the rights to a logo or image, or a photo depicts you, we honor prompt notice-and-takedown requests — see our Intellectual Property & Takedown Policy.
What does the “Verified” badge mean?
A Verified badge means we cross-checked the organization against Israel’s nonprofit registry — for example, proper-management approval (“nihul takin”), §46 status, and recent multi-year reporting. It is not an endorsement and not a guarantee of how a charity spends its funds. Always do your own due diligence before donating.
Is a donation US tax-deductible?
Not necessarily. §46 refers to tax-deductibility under the Israeli Income Tax Ordinance, in Israel only. It is not US (IRS 501(c)(3)) tax-deductibility. If you are a US donor, verify US tax-deductibility independently with a qualified tax advisor before giving.
Do you collect my data?
No. GlassPockets collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no login, no analytics, no trackers, and no ads. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
Where do my favorites go?
Your favorites are stored only on your device (as nonprofit registry numbers). They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
How do I delete my data?
Because your favorites live only on your device, you can remove any favorite inside the app at any time, and you can erase all of it instantly by deleting the app from your device.
How current is the data, and how do I report an error or request a correction or removal?
Listings come from public registries and show when they were last verified. Public-source data can lag behind real-world changes or contain errors. If you spot an inaccuracy, or you represent an organization and want a correction or removal, please email us at Company@lovelaceloom.com.
To report an inaccuracy, include:
- the organization’s registry number (and name), and
- a short description of what’s wrong and, if possible, the correct information or a public source.
This helps us verify and update the listing quickly.
